Senior Common Room
Originally used as the billiards room in the late 19th Century and more recently renovated by Robin Boyd, the Senior Common Room needed a re-fresh to align it with the College’s desire to open-up their more reserved and formal spaces for multipurpose use for their staff.
Mindful of the spaces heritage and existing architectural features, the fit-out was designed to allow flexible use of the space so it could be reconfigured for a variety of uses; everyday staff room, formal hall pre-dinner, formal dinners, canapes, lectures and film screenings. The subtle fixed additions for storage or a place to serve coffee and tea were added to help facilitate the proposed functions along with contemporary soft furnishings which help elevate the space and soften the formality.
